1966 Graduates with a degree in Physics from Loyola College, Chennai.

1970 National Award, Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. (also in `78).

1971 Diploma in Fine Arts, Government College of Arts and Crafts, Chennai.

1976 13th Middleheim open-air sculpture exhibition, Antwerp, Belgium.

1978 Gold medal at the IVth International Triennale, New Delhi.

1980 Homi Bhaba Fellowship, British Council Travel Grant; travels to Europe and the United States; Indian section at the Fukuoaka Museum, Japan; India’s first International Sculpture camp at Punjabi Museum, Patiala.

1985 ICCR Travel Grant to Yugoslavia.

1989 Serves on the Henry Moore Foundation Fellowship Committee.

1990 Senior Fellowship conferred for two years by the Government of India.

1992 Nominated by the Government of India to serve on the purchase committee of the National Gallery of Modern Art,New Delhi.(also in `02).

1993 Featured in the book ‘The Madras Metaphor’, by Oxford University Press.

1998 Nominated by the Government of India to serve as an advisor to the National Gallery of Modern Art, New Delhi. (also in 2000). Featured in the book ‘The Algebra of Figuration’, Oxford University Press.
